Lombard Odier lays the foundation stone of its future global headquarters in Bellevue
Lombard Odier’s new headquarters, designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron, will open in 2023, and will provide a working space for the Group’s employees who are currently spread over five locations in Geneva. The building will accommodate up to 2,600 work stations.
The decision to build its future headquarters in Bellevue on the shores of Lake Geneva is a very important step in Lombard Odier’s development. It highlights the firm’s commitment to the canton and Switzerland, and underlines its confidence in the future. Located next to a public and private transportation hub, the building, designed by leading architects Herzog & de Meuron, combines timeless elegance and innovation, while fitting seamlessly within its surroundings. By investing in cutting-edge infrastructure, Lombard Odier reaffirms its commitment to offer the best conditions and services for its employees and clients.
The urban development, which will be connected to the GéniLac network, includes cycle lanes and footpaths linking Champ-du-Château to the centre of Bellevue. After completion, the site will see three times more tree cover than before and offer housing, shops and public amenities. The added value for the local community in terms of increased activity and green mobility is a central part of the Group’s approach.
The design, coordination and execution of the work through shared digital models make this a pioneering project for Switzerland in terms of process digitalisation. Led by companies from Geneva and the rest of French-speaking Switzerland, the construction project, which is marked for completion in 2023, will promote circularity in the supply chain, while reducing grey energy by using recycled concrete and integrating excavated materials.
This project embodies the Group’s concept of sustainability: from energy and water use to air flow, materials, environmental impact, employee well-being and interaction with local communities. “Sustainability, innovation and a long-term vision are in our Group’s DNA. For more than two hundred years, we constantly rethink our approach to our profession. This project reflects our vision for the bank of tomorrow: responsible, efficient and sustainable,” says Patrick Odier, Senior Managing Partner of the Group.
Various collaborative working spaces will be set up to increase discussions, including a modular auditorium with capacity for up to 800 people, a staff restaurant, gym and several break rooms. “Our aim is to create a head office that combines technological innovation, flexibility and efficiency, while integrating new ways of working. We aspire to create an optimal framework for our employees so we can offer an excellent client experience. Our clients will enjoy an exceptional facility which is easy to access and which will provide all our services and expertise under one roof,” explains Annika Falkengren, Managing Partner of the Lombard Odier Group.
