Lombard Odier wins two Bilanz magazine awards
Lombard Odier is proud to have received two awards in BILANZ’s annual Swiss Private Banking rankings: “long-time quality leader” and “excellence”.
BILANZ is a leading business and financial magazine. Each year it goes undercover in search of the best private bank in a rigorous, five-step process involving nine renown experts. Now it its 15th year, their rankings are one of the most respected in the Swiss banking landscape.
A mystery-shopper approach to discovering the best
Like mystery shopping, BILANZ’s ranking process is conducted undercover to avoid receiving fake proposals from banks soliciting awards. The unique, multi-step process hinges around a real private client looking for the best banking partner. First, the client’s banking requirements were sent to 110 Swiss private banks with a request for a proposal. Next, a nine-member jury vetted all the proposals and selected the top 20.
The independent Institut für Vermögensaufbau (IVA) in Munich then subjected those proposals to an extensive analysis that focused on interaction, holistic approach, transparency, costs, risk disclosure and portfolio structure. Finally, based on the IVA’s results, the jury selected the winning banks as well as the best in national, regional, foreign and private bank categories.
Recognition
This accolade from BILANZ, an independent and highly regarded industry commentator, is testament to Lombard Odier's position as a market leader in the Swiss private banking sector. This is the second time that we have occupied top positions in BILANZ’s private banking rankings.
This year, Lombard Odier was awarded the "long-time quality leader" prize due to our excellent performance year after year. This award is given to banks that have received a ‘very good’ BILANZ grade at least three times in the last four years. When asked in which aspects Lombard Odier was especially convincing, the jury cited interaction, transparency and cost control.
Sustained performance
With this double award, BILANZ’s independent jury of experts, headed by finance professor Thorsten Hens from Zurich University, acknowledges that Lombard Odier’s tailor-made offerings have stood out for years. "We are delighted to receive this confirmation. The fact that we are recognized as a long-time quality leader validates our efforts to deliver a first-rate client experience," says Andreas Arni, head of the Swiss market and local managing director, Zurich.
